Much of Lisa’s inspiration is drawn from the East Sussex landscape. She has lived in Hastings for just over two decades and is still enthralled by the beauty around her. Lisa spends a lot of time walking her dogs up on the East Hill. She is inspired by the ever-changing light and cloud formations that make the landscape always beautiful and always different. Light and its absence are what inspires her - the strong beautiful colours of the land and sea when hit by sunlight contrasted with the darkest darks where the sun can’t reach. Lisa captures this gorgeous colour in the landscape and the tonal gradations of light and dark in her drawings.
