PAINTING - ABSTRACT

Sophie is a fine artist, and moves between materials, subject and concepts fluidly. As a response to last years pandemic she has developed a daily drawing practise from natural forms she finds. These she collages together to create images that represents the floor of the woodlands she explores with her children.

For 2021, she has gone back to basics, exploring observational drawing and abstract painting.

Observational drawing is her main teaching practice, working predominantly from nature. These drawings, and the landscapes she spends time in, are the subject her painting practice.
