Mark Austin, Sunken Garden

£750.00

Charcoal on paper, signed, artwork size 47cm x 38cm, framed size 61cm x 51cm x 4cm 'Sunken Garden' is an original artwork of charcoal on paper, as a 􀋡final piece from my first artist residency at Bannantynes Hotel and Spa in Hastings, with Pure Arts Group.

Throughout my residency I was taken by all of he shapes and forms of the garden and trees surrounding the sunken garden. This piece came together after ten sketches of the garden from di􀋞erent perspectives.

I realised when drawing from a different angle it resembled a smiling face, which is how i felt as this was my first artist in residence experience, including my first solo exhibition. The work has been 􀋢oat mounted within a contemporary black frame and anti reflective glass.
