PAINTING - ABSTRACT
Carolyn loves the stuff that paint is and is endlessly fascinated in discovering what paint can do to describe the colours, textures, shapes, sensations, thoughts, emotions and wonder that she feels when out in the landscape and nature. Or how paint can help to interpret the narrative in photographs of figures, still-life and landscape through the process of making drawings and studies then playing with mark-making, pattern, colour, indian wood blocks, fingers, – pouring, dribbling, scraping, puddling, brushing – allowing the paint and the curiousity of the process to create unexpected outcomes that surprise. The surprise is important.
