PAINTING - ABSTRACT
As co-founder of Chalk Gallery, Lewes and Art on the River and President of the Eastbourne Group 2003-2007 among many other notable achievements, Mary has been promoting art across Sussex for some 30 years, not least over the last 10 years for Pure.
Recognised for her mixed media work, Mary’s current work is an attempt to create atmosphere and moods of the sea with a subtle mix of acrylic/mixed media. She is inspired by Rothko for colour and Anselm Keifer and Tapies for texture.
Mary’s work is considered to be deep, dark and mysterious also Mary’s works are strongly connected with her emotions.... She bravely mixes and uses new techniques and materials - the result is amazing emotional art.
